Capros® is a patented nutritional supplement ingredient (protected under U.S. Patent 6,124,268 and other pending U.S. and foreign patents) developed to provide beauty from the inside out. Capros® is not like any other Phyllanthus emblica (syn. Emblica officinalis) superfruit extract; it is obtained by a patented water-based process, which guarantees optimized levels of bioactives to provide myriad health benefits, particularly in regard to alleviating oxidative stress.
Capros® serves multiple functions to help balance our body from oxidative stress by serving as:
- a cascading natural antioxidant
- a chelator for iron- and copper-induced oxidative stress
- an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteases
- a stimulator of dermal protein synthesis
- an inhibitor of tyrosinase and peroxidase activity (topical)
- an inhibitor of aldose reductase activity
Capros® is a cascading antioxidant, which means that its metabolites have
antioxidant properties. Most antioxidants convert from an active to an
inactive form in the body. Capros® is a multilevel cascade of antioxidant
compounds. Moreover, Capros® has excellent stability as seen when tested in
aqueous systems for 12 months at 45°C.
Capros® is obtained from premium-quality fruits using a patented water-based process. Capros® is distinctly different from other commercially available Phyllanthus emblica extracts. In terms of its key bioactive tannins, it is designed to contain well over 60 percent. None of the extracts of Phyllanthus emblica in the marketplace compare to Capros® in composition, consistency, aqueous stability, and color.
Capros® is a safe and effective ingredient. The fruits are selected, harvested, and processed in accordance with strict criteria to ensure a consistently high-quality product. Capros® has an excellent safety profile and is a self-affirmed GRAS product.
Because it can combat oxidative stress, Capros® shows promise as a dietary supplement for overall health and as a nutricosmeceutical for a healthy complexion. Capros® can be used alone or in combination with other antioxidants and natural compounds in nutraceuticals and functional food formulations.
